The Orientation

Hi there! I am your narrator for this virtual whale watching tour. I will be one of the 12 passengers on a Prince of Whales inflatable. The creator of this tour thought it would be a little easier to follow if the tour was designed in a first-person perspective. I am happy you could join me. Well, shall we start?

After putting on our whale watching suits in the Prince of Whales office, it is just a short walk down Victoria's Inner Harbour Causeway to the boat docks, just in front of the famous Empress Hotel. We navigate the causeway with the assistance of a staff member who introduces us to our skipper and boat. Our skipper greets us and introduces himself as Chris. Chris gave us our seat assignments and assisted us to our seats. As we idled out of Victoria's Inner Harbour, Chris gave us a quick vessel orientation, including its safety features and some commonsense guidelines about boat safety and whale watching guidelines. With everyone comfortable, we reach the mouth of the harbour, zip up our suits and give Chris the "thumbs up" and he opens up the engines and we're off.

Prince of Whales Zodiac - Enroute!

Within minutes we are reaching speeds of 30 knots, in search of killer whales.
